Security Guard
Description
We are seeking a vigilant, dependable, and customer-focused team member to support the safety, flow, and overall operations of Little Tree, a store specializing in gas, vape nicotine, exotic snacks, and tobacco products. This role goes beyond traditional security — you will play a key part in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient environment for both customers and staff.
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, with alternating Friday and Saturday shifts.
Shifts are primarily evenings and run until close.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the store and surrounding areas to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activities
- Support traffic flow during busy periods by managing customer movement and maintaining an organized environment
- Respond calmly and effectively to disturbances and assist with de-escalating situations when needed
- Monitor for theft and work closely with management and the team on follow-up and loss prevention efforts
- Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports for any security or operational events
- Assist customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner while upholding store policies
- Enforce age restrictions and compliance for tobacco and vape product sales
- Support overall store operations by assisting the team as needed
- Perform light outdoor maintenance duties, including seasonal tasks such as salting in winter, sweeping, and general clean-up
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment both inside and outside the store
Requirements:
- Must be bilingual (French and English)
- Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and take appropriate action in high-pressure situations
- Comfortable standing and being active for the duration of your shift
- Ability to handle conflict and de-escalate situations professionally
- Strong attention to detail, including report writing and documentation
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as scheduled
- Team-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability

Associé(e) – Sécurité et opérations en magasin
Nous recherchons une personne vigilante, fiable et orientée vers le service à la clientèle pour soutenir la sécurité, la fluidité et les opérations générales chez Little Tree, un magasin spécialisé dans le gaz, la vape nicotine, les snacks exotiques et les produits du tabac.
Horaire : du lundi au jeudi, avec rotation entre les quarts du vendredi et du samedi.
Les quarts sont principalement de soir et se terminent à la fermeture.
Responsabilités :
- Surveiller le magasin et les environs afin de prévenir le vol, le vandalisme et les activités non autorisées
- Gérer la circulation des clients lors des périodes achalandées afin d’assurer un environnement fluide et organisé
- Intervenir de manière calme et professionnelle lors de situations conflictuelles et aider à désamorcer les tensions
- Assurer le suivi des vols et collaborer avec la direction et l’équipe sur les mesures de prévention des pertes
- Rédiger des rapports d’incidents clairs et précis
- Offrir un soutien aux clients et aux employés de façon professionnelle et courtoise
- Faire respecter les politiques du magasin, incluant les restrictions d’âge
- Soutenir les opérations générales du magasin selon les besoins
- Effectuer des tâches d’entretien extérieur léger (salage en hiver, balayage, nettoyage)
- Maintenir un environnement propre, sécuritaire et organisé
Exigences :
- Être bilingue (français et anglais)
- Excellentes aptitudes en observation, communication et relations interpersonnelles
- Capacité à rester calme et à intervenir efficacement dans des situations stressantes
- Être à l’aise de rester debout pendant toute la durée du quart de travail
- Capacité à gérer les conflits et à désamorcer les situations
- Bonne capacité de rédaction pour les rapports
- Flexibilité pour travailler de soir et selon l’horaire établi (incluant fins de semaine)
- Esprit d’équipe et sens des responsabilités

Compensation
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
